Just moments after Miranda debuted her new song Wranglers at the ACM awards, Blake, who is Miranda’s ex-husband, wrangled the spotlight as he performed his new duet Purple Irises with current wife, Gwen Stefani.

The timing did not go unnoticed by fans on X, formerly Twitter.

Gwen dazzled in a pair of sparkling purple pants and purple ribboned top, in an obvious nod to her song.

Blake kept his cool in an all black jacket and shirt, with jeans.

“Blake Shelton singing a love song duet with Gwen Stefani in front of his ex wife… Bold,” one person observed.

“They performed minutes apart, so they definitely ran into each other backstage. that must have been so awkward and uncomfortable,” another noted.

“Blake Shelton hasn’t been the same since screwing up what he had with Miranda Lambert,” one person shared.

While another countered, “Blake Shelton going from Miranda lambert to Gwen Stefani might possibly be the biggest upgrade of all time.”

Blake was still married to his first wife when he recorded a duet with fellow country star Miranda Lambert.

She was engaged at the time to country singer Jeff Allen McManus, but the chemistry between her and Blake was instant.

“I knew he was married,” Miranda confessed in 2011. “I knew better. Like, this is off-limits.

“I didn’t know what to do with it. It was, like, my first duet with some other country star, and I didn’t know if it was just initial butterflies because of that. I don’t know what it was. It was just this draw to each other.”

“I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,” Blake revealed during an episode of VH1’s Behind the Music. “I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’”

But it did, and the two married in May 2011 in Boerne, Texas.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Timeline

Blake, 47, and Gwen, 52, began dating in 2015 after meeting on the set of the NBC reality show The Voice.

Both were fresh out of lengthy failed marriages.

After a five-year relationship, the celebrity couple got engaged in 2020.

The Hollaback Girl singer announced their engagement on social media as she flashed her blinged-out hand while sharing a kiss with her hubby.

Blake also shared the same picture on his Instagram, writing, “Hey Gwen, thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!”

Less than a year later, on July 3, 2021, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Blake’s Oklahoma ranch.

The two seem to have now found their forever loves, after leaving a trail of drama from past relationships behind them.

However, it was a rocky relationship, with each facing accusations of infidelity.

By 2015, the two divorced, and Blake moved on with Gwen.

USING HER VOICE

Country legend Reba McEntire, hosted the ACM’s, and she’s about to get to spend a lot more time with Gwen when they reunite on The Voice.

Reba, who joined the cast last season following Blake’s departure, announced earlier this week that she is returning to her red chair.

She also revealed that Blake’s wife, Voice veteran Gwen is coming back as well, along with rapper Snoop Dogg, 52.

The new lineup of coaches for the reality show was shared at NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation in New York City.

Meanwhile, a source exclusively told The U.S. Sun last month that Blake is considering returning to the show following his exit after 23 seasons.

The God’s Country singer had been a coach on The Voice since its inception in 2011 before deciding to step away.

“Blake may have said his time on the show is over, but he has not closed the door for good,” the insider revealed.

“He would come back to the show if Gwen was invited too, and then they could enjoy working together again.”
